To sustain and grow the organization locally, nationally, and internationally by directly providing financial, inspirational and educational resources to those individuals in need. Young adults after a cancer diagnosis often feel isolated in many different areas when undergoing treatments and remission periods. You may be reading this yourself and are experiencing these same struggles.
Diagnosed with cancer, young adults often find many new challenges:
- Often just starting a family or career, possibly in a new town or city.
- May not know where to find financial, inspirational or educational resources quickly.
- Forces many young adults to prematurely face their own mortality.
- May not have sufficient health insurance and cannot afford “not” to work.
- Often feel isolated and alone, or they don’t believe they can have cancer at their age.
- Peers are unlikely to know how to react or support someone who has cancer.
JTYA attempts to bridge this gap by providing needed services in times of urgency. The organization will continue to work with local communities to be used as a resource for young adult cancer survivors.
Jen’s Thank You Alliance’s Management, Board of Directors, Volunteers, and Donors will continue to be vigilant in every attempt to make a difference in the community.
